I worked so hard on this power point to show my friends. So I want to show you guys because I love Monster High so much. I will preface this by saying that this was supposed to be me presenting this to my girlfriends, so it was going to be a lot of me talking, that's why the slides are the way they are. I would also love a good debate about y'alls favorite movie or if you disagree with some of my placements.

PEN15 or My life ?
I had been debating about what to write next, right? Mostly because I have so many ideas, but I have a hard time keeping track of them and/or I forget them. It wasn't until I was going to bed that I had the idea for my next post, and then it turned into me making a new label.....MY TV! I love watching television. Ever since I was little, I have watched so many different shows that I can't NOT have a label about them. I love sitcoms, Canadian shows, British shows, cartoons, anime, old '70s shows, and '50s black-and-white shows. I need to have someone to talk to about them, so I have deemed YOU GUYSSSSS.
As much as I have Anna's physical stature, I was Maya alllll the way. I was a freaking WERIDOOOOO. Every time my brother comes into my room and sees that I am watching it, he just stares at it, looks at me, and laughs. "Dude.....you." Then LEAVES! I am sitting there looking at the TV, and I'm wondering just how much of a weirdo I was and what my family had to deal with. I was a boy-crazy, loud, overly tall girl with thick black glasses at one point and braces. I think that's why I liked the show so much, because I felt a connection to both of the girls.
I felt that weird, not-so-subtle shame of being different from the people in your school, no matter how much you tried to fit in. How your mom can see that the friends you chose are not treating you kindly, but wants you to make your own decisions about them. Then that leads to you calling her in the middle of the sleepover to come pick you up because you can't stand feeling horrible the whole night. Begging your parents to help you buy expensive birthday gifts for the cool girl's birthday party, even though you know that your parents don't have much to spare, but they love you and want you to fit in too.
Now that I am older and I watch the show, I feel a little bad for little me. The me who always wondered what made her so weird to other people. Maybe if this show had come out earlier, then I wouldn't have felt so alone growing up. I didn't have to wait super long, though. It wasn't until I made it to high school that I found my forever group, that I still hang out with to this day. It's okay to be weird and like what you like. Who deems what is normal and weird anyway? Don't be afraid to be colorful in this boring and beige world.
For all the weirdos out there, you can always find a friend in me.

hey guys!
I know it has been a hot second since I have written a blog post. I think starting up the blog, decorating it all and figuring out a theme too so much time that I had to take a break. Now that I got to step away for a week, I feel motivated to post. What is funny is I have a post written in my drafts, I just haven't had the time to edit it and add my little funny pictures. I love this blog with all my heart, so I want to be able to give it life and personality it deserves.
Being an older girl boss, it can be hard finding time for the stuff I do enjoy. I love to read my books with my friends but I get so tired at the end of the day, which is when I usually read in my cozy pjs and have a yummy drink. It's how I feel about the blog sometimes y'know? Writing about my favorite movies or just silly little memories is so fun, but I get so wiped that I find myself doom scrolling for like two hours. I need to be more disciplined and force myself to open my laptop and write. It's hard to stop feeling so paralyzed in bed at times.
This is really just an update so I can tell all my lovely fellow bloggers that it's okay to take some breaks and be real about things. I'm going to try and blog once a week, maybe even twice if I'm feeling snazzy or have the urge to spill some beans. I do have a fun post in my drafts that I am excited about! I even made a funny presentation that I wanted to share with you guys since I made it for my friends beach trip! So I can't wait to post and interact with you guys more! Byeeeeeee

Wattpad...what are you doing babe?
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. See, I grew up, stopped using Wattpad and began using AO3, as is the rite of passage I believe. So, Wattpad was not on my radar for a long time until I see a story about how it had wiped out thousands of stories because its new guide lines removes anything with NSFW from sexual act to even certain violence. Which I found interesting because these guidelines have always been in place, but never enforced because look at what made them popular.....SEXUAL STORIES ABOUT ONE DIRECTION. Wattpad, did you not have an author publish her her series to be sold and distributed in bookstores? What was it again? Oh yea! A HARRY STYLES FAN FICTION SERIES ABOUT HAVING SEX WITH A GIRL AS A BET. It even got turned into a FREAKING MOVIE FRANCHISE PEOPLE. (I couldn't accept that she changed his name to Harden. Not a vibe)

Whats in my bag?
As an older girly, I find myself needing to carry more things. When I was a teenager, I could get away with just carrying my wallet and phone, and that was it. I would just root around in my wallet for the crumbled twenty my mom gave me and give it to my waiter at Chili's. Now that I am in my late twenties....a lady needs to carry so many necessities. I have a small bowler bag from Baggu (I love her), and I find myself stuffing that baby to the gills. Truthfully, I think I need to upgrade to a to a bigger bag, like the Everyday Cloud Bag, that way i can carry more things.

Cinema
I have watched this movie every year on my birthday the moment I turned 16. Even a decade later, and no matter how cheesy it is, I cannot get tired of it. I started watching at like 11:30 p.m. on my birthday night after having a full Korean BBQ and a whole bottle of soju. I have seen this so many times that even as I sat on the floor sloshed and eating cake, I was able to pretty much quote the whole movie. Molly Ringwald in the 80s was truly her primeeeeee. I loved watching all her movies so much as a kid. (OMG I HAVE TWO MOLLY RINGWALD MOVIES IN HERE) I just honestly love the whole cast, which is why I like it, because I also love Michael Schoeffling in Vision Quest, and Anthony Hall in Breakfast club AND Edward Scissorhands. I am telling you guys, I watch so many movies, it's kinda gross. I have literally been torturing my boyfriend for years about the amount of movies I make him watch. I can't wait until I have a girl, and she turns 16, so I can show her this movie (and then tell her to not date a senior when she is a sophomore because that will be super messy). This movie does have a special place in my heart though, because I remember when my own mom showed this movie to me and she watched as I fell in love with the JAKE RYAN. Memoriessss.
The theater was straight poppinggg when my family went to go see this! They were playing in like five different theaters at once because it is so popular right now. Spent an arm and a leg on drinks and snacks (I only sneak snacks in when I have my big purse and I forgot it. RIP) I won't give any spoilers because I refuse to be that person, but I will say, it was amazing. Unfortunately, no Spider-man movie can top No Way Home for me, not even this one. (That is not including Miles Morales and the Spider-Verse) I loved seeing all the practical effects be so seamless and seeing how Peter has grown up. ALL I WILL SAY IS I LOVE HOW HE PAID HOMAGE TO HIS BROTHERS PETER 2 AND 3. It was nice seeing him carry his brothers with him through the suit so that he didn't feel so alone. Just so much thought and love went into this movie, and I was happy I got to see it in theaters!
ANYTHING. AND I MEAN ANYTHING WITH SAM ROCKWELL, I WILL SEE IN THEATERS IF I CAN. So, I actually saw this movie earlier in the year with my brother in theaters. At first, I wasn't interested because I didn't really hear much about it. It wasn't until he told me that Sam Rockwell would be in it that I would go with him. I AM A WEAK WOMANNNNNN. I actually loved it so much and saw it THREE TIMES in a week because I thought it was so funny, though provoking, and I love me some eye candy. So, I saw it was finally streaming on Hulu and I decided to pick it for the sibling movie night I have with my older brother and sister since my sister hadn't seen it. What I like about the movie is how it made you feel about technology and what it is doing to not only us but our world. I say as I type a very long blogpost about all the movies I have watched this week. It had a decent story line and funny characters that we got some backstory on that I found enjoyable. I think what I like the most about it is how chaotic it is from the very beginning to the end. It's hard for me to start a movie with a long, chaotic dialogue about the future in danger and it's up to a man with a stuffy backpack to fix it and not find it funny.
From Junie B. Jones to Morally Grey Men
Blasting in my ears at the Library:
So I have a Kindle Unlimited account and it is truly the best money I have spent...... ever.
Growing up, I didn't have the love for reading that I do now. The private school I went to was very adamant about literacy and summer reading. It was full on book reports that we had to turn in before school even started. So, imagine my disdain at being forced to go to the public library, find a book to read ANDDDDD actually finish. I also believe it had to do with the fact that I wasn't very on par with the grade reading level either. Then one day, I happened to stumble across a colorful cover and discovered HER. Junie B. Jones, my queen as I live and breathe.
My mom finally got me my own library card because I had just started devouring those books. She was a brat (like me) and made plenty of mistakes, but by the end of every book there was always some kind of resolution or character growth.Which, in my opinion, is important with children's books because it allows the kids to understand that changing is okay and frankly unavoidable as they grow up. Finding Junie helped me understand that not all books are boring, you just need to find the right one.
Which led me to.....JOHN GREEN.... AND THE 2010 YA DYSTOPIAN ERAAAAAAA
(AT THIS TIME I WOULD LIKE TO DISCLOSE THAT I WAS READING FAN FICTION LIKE A MADWOMAN UNDER MY BLANKET ON A SCHOOL NIGHT AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WATTPAD WAS ALSO THE REASON I STARTED TO LIKE READING. THAT IS A STORY FOR ANOTHER BLOG POST)
It wasn't until I graduated from high school that my reading intake began to dwindle. College took up all my reading time, and not to mention all the reading you have to do in college! I was an English major, so there would be times I would have to read three or four different passages for one class alone. I want to say it wasn't until the flipping plague hit the world, that I began to read for fun again. Let's be real, quarantine was kind of nice because we got to slow down a bit and do nothing for those two weeks. Then it became hell because I was stuck in a house with my family for wayyyyyy too long.
There was a sale going on at the time that I looked into the prices and I couldn't pass up three months for eight dollars. This was where I fudged up....I did not leave my room or sleep for at least a week because I was just chowing DOWNNNN on some romance books of all types. I had mafia bosses, rich vampires, why choose alphas, shapeshifting krakens, and many, many morally grey men. I DON'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I WAS READING SINGULAR BOOKS IN A DAY. It got to the point where I was collecting badges and awards for being such a "bookworm". I was like mmm....no, I am reading about krakens stealing their human mates to live in their underwater castles to dote on them for the rest of their lives.
To sum up my very long-winded rant about books.....you should invest in Kindle Unlimited. YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO BUY A KINDLE, JUST DOWNLOAD THE APP. You will not regret it because I guarantee you, you will hit your reading goals for the year. I think just within the last few months of owning the membership I have read about 30 books. Yes, they vary from 150 to about 500-ish pages, but it's still a book. It's like having access to a whole other library on your phone that knows exactly what you like and gives you new suggestions. To all the Kindle Unlimited authors...... Thank You.
